The University of Hawaii at Hilo baseball team scored 14 runs over two games against Hawaii Pacific on Saturday to start its season.

Unfortunately, the Sea Warriors pounded Vulcan pitching all day long in a doubleheader on Oahu, running away with 17-7 and 14-7 victories at Hans L’ Orange Field.

Tyler Simao took the loss in Game 1, allowing eight runs in 4 2/3 innings. Micah Nakasone took the loss in relief in Game 2.

For UHH in the doubleheader, Brad Fairweather went 4 for 7, John Abreu was 4 for 9 and Jonathan James was 3 of 8.
